FUCK GEORGIA TECH!!!!!!!!!

September 30, 2006

Thank you Georgia Tech…thank you for runing my fucking day. The fucking game isn’t even over but its fucking 38-13 in the 3rd quarter. I predicted a fucking VT win 21-10…boy was I wrong. It’s not like I base these scores on anything….I just come up with them on the spot….but for fuck’s sake….this is fucking ridiculous….Fucking Sean Glennon fumbled twice already in the second half, one went for a touchdown.

Oh and great just turned over to ESPN2 and Miami is winning..SHIT I hate GT….they can suck my……………………………………………………….FCC.

#11 Virginia Tech vs. #24 Georgia Tech

September 30, 2006

Well since I guess were done destroying “cupcakes”, (right Davey?) it’s time to play a really good team. The Hokies have been getting attention and are expected by many, even Davey, a canes’ fan, to win the ACC championship. While the yellow jackets were only expected to well, send a top 3 player to the NFL draft. (Calvin Johnson)

GT played a great game against at the time the #2 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This game was a unexpected defenseive struggle, but in the end the Fighting Irish were able to pull out a 14-10 win. After that game the Yellow Jackets came back with impressive wins against not so impressive teams. First GT beat Samford 38-6, then they beat Troy(who actually has a pretty good “D”) 35-20. Last Thursday Georgia Tech played their first ACC opponet of the year. They absolutely destroyed Virginia 24-7. I know I know, you look at the score and say “It’s only a 17 point loss, surely that isn’t enough to use the words ‘absolutely destroyed” but let me through a couple on numbers at ya. I won’t really throw them..cause that’s how accidents happen. Safety First!!!!

Total Rush Yards- GT-144 UV- 66
Total Pass Yards- GT- 230 UV-115
I think you get what i’m talking about. Right??

Georgia Tech probaly isn’t our biggest fans….expecially since we kinda put a hurtin’ on them last year. We were able to get outta there with a 51-7 win. I know, talk about a nail bitter.

This is from Sports Illustrated

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)
No. 24 Georgia Tech (3-1) at No. 11 Virginia Tech (4-0)
Oh, cruel ACC scheduling gods. For some reason you’ve seen fit to send the Yellow Jackets to Blacksburg in consecutive seasons. Last year’s trip resulted in a 51-7 Hokies demolition. What could possibly cause a 44-point turnaround in one year’s time? I have no idea. Just go with it.
Georgia Tech 19, Virginia Tech 17

Well sir, I will certainly not “just go with it”. In fact I believe I will have to disagree with your predicted score. IDIOTS….you don’t even understand your own reasons for picking Georgia Tech winning(with they won’t)

Ok, there has been a little talk about this GT defense. I don’t understand why!! All they do is blitz, that’s it…just blitz, no speacial formations or anything, just send anywhere from 4 to 7 guys. That’s their defense….real hard to stop that huh? Oh, no here comes an extra guy that we were soooo not expecting, lets leave an extra blocker, um, I don’t know….how bout a fucking runningback….NOTRE DAME!!!!

Ok…..predicted score 21-10 VT….bitches!!!

Michael Bush is a still a BEAST!!!!

September 28, 2006

After breaking his right leg in Louisville’s season opener, Michael Bush says he is in no rush to decided whether he will enter his name in the 2007 NFL draft or return for another year at Louisville. He could either take a redshirt or a medical redshirt and he would be eligible to play again as a redshirt senior.

“I just want to get my rehab done and see how strongly I rebound when the time comes,” said Bush.

Bush had a titanium rod inserted into the leg and two screws to hold th rod in place during his surgery on Sept. 4. He is still walking with crutches and he says his recovery time could take between five to six months, meaning he would be 100% in time for April’s draft.

“I should be 100 percent or even stronger,” Bush said. “To me I’m glad it’s not a knee or an ACL or that I messed up my ankle. To me it’s just a broken leg. It happens all the time.”

When Bush took a handoff from quarterback Brian Brohm on the second play of the third quarter and ran to his left, he was tackled from behind by Kentucky linebacker Wesley Woodyard. Bush said he tried to get up following the tackle, and the he looked down at his right leg and saw his foot pointing in the wrong direction.

“I remember hearing something snapping like a stick,”he said. “The trainers came over to me and were like ‘What’s wrong?” and I said, ‘Look at my leg.”

This guy amazes me, not just because of the way he plays the game, but his reaction and quotes after suffering a season ending injury.

Wesley Woodyard called Bush to apologize, but Bush said he doesn’t blame him for the injury, saying it was just part of the game. Bush received hundreds of calls and messages of support from well-wishers since the injury, of the hundreds a couple stood out including comedian Bill Cosby and former Louisville wide receiver Deion Branch.

Bush said he’s only gotten upset once since the injury, tearing up a little bit while watching the Cardinals play Temple on Sept. 9.

“It’s jut part of the healing process,”he said.

Instead of crying and pouting, he’s chosen to become a “cheerleader” and spiritual leader for the #8 Cardinals. He also spoke to his teammates during halftime of the team’s thrashing of Miami 31-7. That explains why the “U” lost huh Davey. He’s been told by his doctors that he may be able to lead his Cards out onto the Papa John’s Stadium turf when they host rival West Virginia on Nov. 2.

Well thats just great….

VA Tech has suspended two starters for the Georgia Tech game on Saturday. Defensive end Chris Ellis and split end Josh Morgan have been suspended for violating team rules.

Ellis and Morgan were suspended by coach Frank Beamer on Monday after both players were arrested early Sunday morning following an altercation outside a downtown nightclub in Blacksburg, VA.

Late Sunday morning around 1:50 a.m. Lt. Joe Davis of the Blacksburg Police Department said officers from his department responded to calls of a “large crowd forming and advised a fight was about to “break out”.

Josh Morgan didn’t follow officers’ orders to leave the area and was eventually arrested on a Class 1 misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer.

Chris Ellis was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor obstructing an officer after he failded to leave the scene after Morgan was arrested.

“They went to place Morgan under arrest and he did not follow their orders or commands,” Davis said.

Ellis went to try to get involved with the officers who were arresting Morgan and didn’t follow their commands and was taken into custody. It was pretty cut and dry.”

Davis also said that neither player was jailed and both were released on perosnal recognizance bonds.

Don’t worry i’m sure we can replace one of the Hokies’ most disruptive defensive linemen. I mean his 12 tackles and 1 sack can be replaced…no problem…I hope.

Morgan on the other hand, is Tech’s second-leading receiver, with 10 grabs for 161 yards and 2 TDs. He also has blocked 2 punts, including 1 for a safety last week against Cincinnati. We sure could use both against GT. Georgia Tech gave Notre Dame all they could handle and last week the put a beating on conference rival, Virgina.

Ok, I would really like to see VT add a rule that these players ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A PERSONAL LIFE!!!! Obvioulsy they can’t handle a night out on the town without getting into a fight or pulling a gun outside of a McDonalds, MARCUS

Owens’ update.

September 27, 2006

Ok, Terrell Owens addressed the media just minutes ago. He denied the rumors and reports that he attempted suicide. He also said that the 911 call by his publicist’s was just a case of misunderstanding.

“There was no suicide attempt,” Owens said. “The rumor of me taking 35 pills is absurd,” said Owens, who said the rest of the pills that were in the empty bottle were seprated and in a differant drawer.

Owens also said Kim Etheridge made the 911 call out of a fear for his well being.

“I really wasn’t as coherent as they thought I was,” Owens said when asked if he told fire rescue workers he tried to hurt himself.

Also, Etheridge denied that she tried to pry two pills out of T.O.’s mouth, she said that the police reports are all false.

Terrell Owens attended practice while the media thought he was preparing to address them. He played catch for awhile with Cowboys starting quarterback, Drew Bledsoe and even with back-up Tony Romo. When asked if he planned to practice tomorrow, he said”I plan to”. He also said that he feels very capable to play on Sunday.

More information will become available when the 911 tape is released.

Owens hospitalized for attempted suicide.

September 27, 2006

On Tuesday night the last thing I saw before I went to bed was “Breaking News“, “Terrell Owens hospitalized”, “Reasons unknown at this time”. My first immediate reaction was it was involving his surgically repaired hand.

But when I wake up today and turn on my t.v. I see another segment on ESPN, “Breaking News”, “Terrell Owens hospitalized for attempted suicide”. I was and still am in complete shock.

It is reported that Terrell attepted suicide by overdosing on perscription pain medication. The persctioption was for 40 pills, but he had only taken 5, but when a friend, who is not identified in the police report, “noticed that [his] prescription pain medication was empty and observed[Owens] putting two pills in his mouth,” the police report said.

Owens’ friend attempted to pry the two pills out of his mouth with her fingers. When fire rescue workers arrived they asked Terrell “if he was attempting to harm himself, at the time [he] stated, ‘Yes.”

KTVT- TV in Dallas reported that the women that found Owens is beleived to be his publicist Kim Etheridge. Etheridge called police at 7:51 p.m. to report a suicide attempt. KTVT-TV reported that Owens ingested at least 35 pills.

Terrell Owens was released from the hospital early this morning.

When the story was first broke, it was reported that he was taken to an emergency late Tuesday night. A source close to Owens told ESPN’s Ed Werder early Wednesday morning that he was suffering an adverse reaction to painkillers taken for treatmen of his fractured hand.

On an online edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Etheridge said “this is not serieous”. This was said before news of the attempted suicide was released. Doctors treating the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver were trying to induce vomiting when he arrived at Baylor Medical Center, according to a television report.

The Dallas Cowboys have called a 2:30 p.m. ET news conference. I will have more information after the conference.

This is the offical Polic Report.

Well now there is more conflicting information out. T.O.’s publicist, Kim Etheridge, has released a statement to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the The Dallas Morning News saying that the reports of an attempted suicide were false. She also told them that Owens is “fine.”

Etheridge said she called 911 because Owens was groggy and lethargic. After taking some supplements “it kicked in a reaction” with the painkilles that he was already taking, she told the Star- Telegram.

“Here’s a person whose body is so clean, it really had a negative reaction to the medication and supplements he was taking,” Etheridge told The Morning News. “Thank goodness someone was there to call an ambulance.”

Owens was released from the hospital Wednesday morning and was seen giving the “thumbs up” to reporters. He made no comment as he got into a waiting SUV and was driven away.

Dallas Police Lt. Rick Watson said he could only confirm that paramedics called police to say they were taking Owens to the hospital. He also said he would be “limited” to what he said due to privacy laws. He also stated that the police would have no more detail because no laws were broken. Attempted suicide is not a crime in Texas.

ESPN’s own Michael Irvin said that Owens denied he attempted suicide and said he was rushed to the hospital as a result of an adverse reaction to medication. And a source close to Owens told ESPN.com’s Michael A. Smith that Owens wasn’t attempting suicide.

Shortley after Irvin’s comments, another former Cowboy and current NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders said he had spoke with Owens shortley after being released from Baylor Hospital and that Owens was in good spirits.

“The fact that it has been reported a suicide attempt, he’s laughed at that notion. It was a case that medication that was taken wasn’t accepted well in his system with the other vitamins he’s on,”Sanders said.

Cowboys Head Coach Bill Parcells said he didn’t know any more details, other than it was “apparently an unfortunate set of circumstances.” He said it was way too early to tell whether Owens might be able to practice this week or even play this coming Sunday against Tennessee.

“I don’t have enogh information yet,” he said. “I wouldn’t [decide] anything right now. I’m talking with a good deal of ignorance on the subject.”

After reportes kept asking the same questions that Parcells had previously already answered that he had no information on, he walked out of the room and said he was “When I find out what the hell is going on, you will know then, I’m not getting interrogated for no reason.”

Another update will be posted after the conference.

A cane and a HOKIE working together….???(thats right HOKIE is in caps, cause they are so much better than those stupid canes, shit i think the title

September 24, 2006

….Fine since my title was rudely interrupted due to no more “space” i will go ahead with the post….

Davey and me decided to start up a new sports blog together. Since he’s a Canes fan and i’m am(of course) a Hokie fan, the blog will mostly consist of lots of horrible puns and cheap shots at each other, and of course sports banter that will have anyone that has the misfortune of sitting through it all and reading it to say”what the fuck are they talking about”. Anyway the blog is titled “Dumb and Irrelivant Sports Banter”, because that’s basically what we do. Oh well, stop by if you want to see two idiots attempt to sound somewhat smart and be completely biased to our teams.

#11 Virginia Tech 29 Cincinnati 13 F

September 23, 2006

Ok this game at times made me want to cry and even think about committing felonies, it also made me scream inappropriate obscenities that would make Samuel L. Jackson blush. Then when things went good for the Hokies I giggled like a 12 year old school girl, and when Branden Ore ran for long gains for 14,23,11,46 and a 71 yard run(called back) I even questioned my sexualality a little bit. But with all that aside, this was a tough game in the first half. Our offense couldn’t get anything going on the ground or throught the air. In fact at the half we had a total of -8 rushing yards as a team.

But I guess the Hokies took to heart what Frank Beamer said at halftime(I don’t know for sure if he said anything, i just assumed he did) because Tech came out on fire. Sean Glennon connected with Justin Harper for a 47 yard TD pass in the first 90 seconds of the second half and gave us the lead. 12-10

For awhile in the 3rd quarter it was a seesaw game, when it came to scoring. VT scored a TD and went up by 2, then Cincy kicked a FG and they went up by 1, then it was all VT from that point on. They scored 17 unanswered points and pulled out a tough win, 29-13.

Like I said earlier, Branden Ore was huge in this game. He carried the rock 26 times and had 163 yards 1 TD and he had 1 rec for 34 yds. At the break Ore only had a total of 18 yards but the 145 he put up in the second half definitely gave him honors as the game MVP. Sean Glennon was pretty good today aswell. He went 11/23 190 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. He’s really got to stop throwing picks. He was sacked 3 times for -22, which hurt our total rushing yards as a team, but thats ok.

Way back in the 1st,Cincinnati lined up for their first punt deep in VaTech territory, when Josh Morgan blasted through the line and blocked Tech’s 4th kick on the season.(3 all of last year) The blocked punt resulted in a Hokie safety.

The game was wrapped up thanks to Victor “Macho” Harris picking off two straight balls thrown by UC’s qb, Dustin Grutza, including returning 1 of those interceptions for a 72 yard TD run.

Anyway, this was a tough but a good win. We will have a huge test against a very good Georgia Tech team next week.
