Chris Leak is offically an NFL quarterback

According to ESPN’s Michael Smith, the Chicago Bears and former Florida quarterback, Chris Leak have agreed to a free-agent contract.

Chris Leak led his Florida Gator’s to a National Championship in 2007 against the Ohio State Buckeyes and Heisman winner, Troy Smith. And unlike Smith, Leak was not selected in this weekend’s NFL Draft. The details of the contract are not known at this point, but i’m sure it will be revealed sometime tomorrow.

In his 4-year career at Florida, Leak played in 51 games, he threw for 11,213 yards, 88 touchdowns and 42 interceptions. One of the biggest reasons everyone passed on Leak in the draft was his height, Leak stands at only 5′11″, but is a solid athlete who can make stuff happen with his feet and throws well on the run and he is a hard worker and is very competitive. Like I said, the downfalls on Leak is his size and his arm strength is just average and never really developed into the player that he was projected to be coming out of high school. He will likely go into training camp competing for the Bears third string quarterback position.

“We were happy that he is with a Super Bowl team like the Bears,” his father, Curtis Leak, told the Charlotte Observer on Monday. “It’s a good situation for him. That’s all that matters to us. I feel great about it.”

Brian Urlacher loves him some 420!!!

Lemme first start off by saying i’m not done posting about the tragic events at Virginia Tech. But I do think it is an appropriate time to start posting about my usual topics, you know jokes about poop(aka the Mets and Hurricanes), my incompetence in the bedroom and my all around sucking at life, oh yeah and sports.

I was just catching up on a few sites and found this video on Break.com. It’s of a couple of friends contributing to 420 by showing off a sweet trick called the “Frosty Mug”. You basically shotgun smoke from a certain “illegal” drug into a glass that has been in a freezer. I, of course have never touched that mary juwana stuff, cause you know, i’m an upstanding citizen(riiiiight) and shit like that. So anyways heres a video with a guy who looks a lot like Brian Urlacher and from the pics of him over at Deadspin, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a relation between the two.

Redskins deal safety, Adam Archuleta to the Bears

According to ESPN’s, John Clayton, the Washington Redskins have agreed to deal safety, Adam Archuleta to the Chicago Bears for a 2007 6th round draft pick. Chicago is a great fit for Archleta primarily because of head coach Lovie Smith, who has coveted Archuleta ever since he took over as the Bears head coach in January 2004.

Lovie Smith was Archuleta’s defensive coordinator while in St.Louis and the two have always had a good relationship. The Bears hope that the versatile safety can return to form and be as productive as he once was.
